Palm Beach Plastic Surgery

We view procedures in a straightforward and simple way. Addition, subtraction or combination. Nearly each and every cosmetic or reconstructive procedure involves the choice to add (enhance) skin, fat, muscle or synthetic materials, the subtraction (reduction) of the same, or a combination.

We can enhance your natural beauty by adding Restylane, fat or Gortex to your face and lips, or implants to your breast or lips. A face lift, liposuction, tummy tuck and eyelid surgery are options that reduce. Skin resurfacing via dermabrasion, chemical peel and laser are also reduction procedures. Combination procedures include breast lift with implants for reconstruction, or chin enlargement and nasal reshaping. Botox injections are a class in itself. Procedures

Arm, Buttocks and Thigh Lifts
Liposuction can sometimes be used on flabby arms, a drooping bottom, and sagging inner or outer thighs to restore a more youthful, shapelier look to those with excess fat. If there is an excess of skin, however, a lift must be performed surgically with the skin removed, and there is the potential for scarring .

Botox Injections
Botox is a reversible, wonderful way to erase wrinkles by chemical means. Botox has been used for more than two decades to treat muscle spasms and nervous system disorders. Now it is also used to "freeze" crow's feet around the eyes, creases in the forehead and frown lines among other treatable areas. Injections are most effective in the upper third of the face, and must be repeated after four to six months.

Breast Enlargement
The second most popular cosmetic surgery procedure, a breast enlargement can contour the breasts. Whether simply for larger breasts, to compensate for a loss of size after childbirth and breast feeding, or for those with uneven breasts, implants can add size, firmness and rounding. A breast lift can be done by itself or in combination with implants, for sagging breasts or breast loss after a mastectomy.  Today, implants are either saline (biodegradable salt waster) or in special circumstances, silicone filled as approved by the FDA.  The most common problem with breast enlargements is hardening scar tissue, which may be reduced by the positioning of the implant such as in a sub-muscular position.

Breast Lift
A breast lift is a surgical procedure to reshape and raise sagging breasts by removing the excess skin that allows the breasts to droop. The breast is recontoured, with the nipple lifted into a more youthful position. The size of the areola can also be reduced. Implants are often added along with lift surgery, for a fuller, rounder appearance.

Breast Reduction
Mother Nature endowed some of us with large breasts that may be disproportionate to body size and can cause neck, back pain and grooves from bra straps. A breast reduction can remove volume, put breasts in better proportion to a woman's body, lift the areola, and relieve discomfort.

Chemical Peel
One of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, a chemical peel removes damaged outer layers of the skin so that new, regenerated skin appears for a fresher, younger-looking complexion. Peels range from light, which can even out fine wrinkling or uneven pigmentation, to deep dermabrasion and laser resurfacing, which can peel off scarring, brown age spots, extensive wrinkling and the like. Dermabrasion and laser resurfacing are similar in their attempt to remove layers of surface skin, though laser provides great precision and control when performed by a competent operator. Chemical peels are similar to burn wounds in their healing.

Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a revitalizing skin treatment that can bring out younger looking skin, as well as reducing problems such as acne scarring, tattoos or disfigurements. A high-speed brush, or "sander", removes the outermost layers of damaged skin and evens out the skin, and a new fresh layer of skin emerges. The healing process is similar to burn wounds.

Eyelid Lift
With age, eyelid skin thins, loses tone and feels the affects of gravity. Eyelid surgery removes excess fat of both upper and lower lid, along with skin and muscle if necessary. Eyes then appear larger, more alert and youthful. The upper lid of the eye must be evaluated with the forehead to determine if the forehead is drooping as well, in which case an eyelid lift itself will not solve the drooping, and both a forehead and eyelift would be indicated.  A new hidden incision procedure inside the lower lid can reduce the fatty bulges of the lower lids and skin.  Resurfacing with either a laser or chemical peel can resolve external skin wrinkling and discoloration.

Facelift
With a full facelift, the skin of the face and neck is lifted through an incision and naturally repositioned, with or without fat sculpting and/or muscle work. A "Bandaid" facelift is more limited with a smaller incision and is effective for those with minimal excess facial skin and the start of jowling. The "Bandaid" can also be used for maintenance and upkeep after a formal lift and requires minimal healing time.

Facial Implants
Facial implants, made of either solid or semi-solid materials, can help reshape and balance the face. Implants can add proportion to a receding chin, enhance cheekbones and create a stronger jawline. Results can be dramatic, yet natural looking.

Fat Injections
In this treatment, fat is transplanted from one area of the body where there is abundance, and donated to another area to fill in wrinkles, hollowness, or add plumpness. It is a popular procedure for the naso-labial fold, the line between the nose and upper lip, and is also used to enhance the lips, reduce wrinkles and lines, and plump up hollowness in the cheeks and eye area.

Forehead Lift
A forehead, or brow lift, can reduce frown lines and furrows in the forehead. Skin is lifted through a surgical incision at the hairline. A facelift or eyelift is often performed at the same time.

Juvéderm Plus
The next generation of long-lasting dermal fillers, Juvéderm Plus is an injectable gel that adds volume to the skin, especially for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, or sinking areas such as the cheeks. The gel is among the smoothest of any filler and has the highest concentration of hyaluranic acid -- a natural substance in the skin that aids in tissue repair. Results last up to six months or more.

Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is a very specific, controlled procedure that can reduce wrinkles around the eyes, cheeks forehead and mouth areas, along with reducing uneven pigmentation and skin blemishes. A highly focused beam of light delivers energy into the skin and gently vaporizes and removes damaged upper layers of skin. A new, non-invasive treatment called "photo rejuvenation" can also smooth fine lines and wrinkles without the burning of overlying skin, using a laser that directs rapid-pulse light beams at problem areas. Especially effective for lines around the eyes and mouth, skin texture and tightening continues for several weeks after treatment.

Lip Enlargement
Lip size can be temporarily enhanced with collagen and fat. Synthetic materials such as Gortex are used for more permanent results. Occasionally, a surgical procedure can raise the lip up as well.

Liposuction
Liposuction, the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedure in the U.S., is a volume reduction process that removes unwanted fat from areas such as the upper thighs, hips, stomach and "love handles". The procedure involves sucking out fat beneath the skin with a vacuum.  Other treatable areas include the neck and fatty breasts. No tightening of the skin or muscle is involved, so the procedure works best on those with good skin elasticity and body tone. Excess skin and muscle weakness will not be corrected with liposuction.

Liposuction involves sucking out fat beneath the skin with a vacuum.. The newest device that assists in liposuction is the power assisted lipoplasty (PAL), a tool that aids contouring with a more even removal of fat, along with less pain and swelling. The device uses compressed air or nitrogen for power, along with motion that eases the movement of fat in tissue, for easier surgeon handling and less patient down time.

Perlane
Perlane is an injectable dermal filler used to fill in wrinkles and facial folds, and also popular for lip augmentation, facial depressions and facial scarring. Perlane is made from hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar found in the skin that aids in tissue repair. In Perlane, that hyaluronic acid supplements the body's natural supply, which becomes depleted with age. Perlane is biodegradable, with treatments lasting six to twelve months, much longer than most other fillers.

Restylane/Injectables Treatment
Restylane and/or fat are natural parts of our skin structure and adds plumpness to areas such as the face. The amount in our body lessens with age, causing wrinkles and depressions. Restylane and other fat injectables are used to add and fill in wrinkled and depressed areas of the skin. All injectables are biodegrable and must be replaced for the continued desired look.

Tummy Tuck
An increasingly popular procedure, a tummy tuck flattens and thins the stomach area by surgically removing excess skin and fat. A limited incision is made when indicated, from which to remove skin, fat and tighten muscle. The procedure is particularly good after a C-section. Stretch marks may also disappear. A waistline can be as much as several inches thinner after a tummy tuck.
