There is a mini-liposuction procedure for men and women who just want a little bit of help for those tough-to-get trouble spots. Traditional liposuction procedures require general anesthesia and some down time. For those who want just a little bit of fat removed, there is the mini-lipo procedure.
Mino-lipo can be done in the clinic with local anesthesia – no pills and no IVs. In a news story on WPTV, Vicky McKay of West Palm Beach sought the help of board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Fredric Barr of Palm Beach Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery for mini-liposuction. The procedure is ideal for somebody who has “good skin structure and good muscle tune and a discreet area of fat where they’ve done their work with diet and exercise, but they just can’t get rid of,” says Dr. Barr.
Vicky had the mini-lipo procedure done on her tummy and thighs to remove just a small amount of excess fat. She is wide awake during her mini-lipo surgery, and dressed and ready for work in less than an hour. Patients experience minimal discomfort and are encouraged to resume normal activities immediately following their mini-lipo procedure. Mini-liposuction can give a slimmer look to the neck, arms, back, hips (love handles), thighs (saddle bags) or tummy areas.
Mini-lipo is designed for specific fat areas for both men and women with minimal downtown and minimal discomfort. The mini-liposuction procedure is a great option for those who keep up their diet and exercise routines and want help with those “trouble spots”. For those who want greater amounts of fat removed, a full liposuction is performed in a hospital outpatient surgery unit.
